Our Curriculum

Our curriculum engages your child’s natural curiosity because the first five years are critical to your child’s intellectual growth and development . Each teacher provides developmentally-appropriate activities to encourage your child to be a confident, successful, life-long learner. 

To ensure that every child is engaging in learning experiences and provide program continuity, we've adopted the Frog Street Continuum for our early programs at Howell Branch Academy. Our curriculum meets the specific needs of every stage of development from birth to age four. Our pre-kindergarten program adopted the HighScope approach for the 2022-2023 VPK year. The HighScope educational approach is consistent with the best practices recommended by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC.org). 

As children progress from one program to the next they enjoy learning activities that build on previously mastered skills so they can achieve new skills in a seamless and continuous way.

Preparing your child to succeed in school and in life is the goal of our curriculum. Our early learning programs emphasize social and emotional development. Children at Howell Branch Academy learn how to build trust, form healthy attachments, and develop impulse control. As children practice these skills daily they are forming a foundation for  emotional regulation and resilience, keys to lifelong success!
